Financial Services Claims

Financial Services Claims

Our three core business areas are:

1. Redress for bad pension advice (Final Salary or Personal Pension transfer).
2. Redress for bad advice to invest in unregulated investments (either via your pension or directly).
3. Redress for unreasonable charging on lending (doorstep loans, PCP agreements, mortgage interest).

We charge a reasonable fee for our work and we will do everything in our power to get the maximum amount of money back for you.

What makes us different?

For years now certain Financial Institutions such as Banks, Credit Card Companies together with Independent Financial Advisers haven’t all been acting with their customers’ best interests in mind.

Certain unscrupulous lenders have been overcharging on mortgage interest, on door-step loans or increasing credit for customers who can ill afford it.

Some so called “Independent” Financial Advisors have been anything but. Moving clients out of perfectly good pension schemes to “SIPPs” and “Platforms” so that they can charge more and make their life easier has been rife.

In some cases, people have been advised to transfer their guaranteed final salary pension schemes to volatile, high risk private pension and advised to invest in un-regulated, high risk assets such as overseas property or mini-bonds.

At HT Legal we understand the distress and potential financial ruin that can be caused having taken advice such as this from an institution or individual that you trusted.

Then to add insult to injury certain claims management companies are charging up to 50% in fees if you employ them in an attempt to get some redress through a claim for compensation.

Energy mis-selling

At HT Legal Ltd, we are assisting numerous businesses in making claims, ranging from £2,000 to £1,800,000.

If you are a Business who pays their own Gas and Electric bills then discover the potential amount you might be entitled to in just three simple steps.

Have you fallen victim to mis-selling?

A significant number of UK businesses rely on energy brokers to secure their energy requirements, serving as intermediaries between the businesses and energy suppliers.

If you have engaged an energy broker, it is possible that they have included undisclosed commissions within your energy contracts without providing clear explanations.

Legally, energy brokers are required to disclose any commissions earned. However, throughout the years, many brokers have employed misleading tactics or hidden their financial incentives.

Based on our conversations with businesses, over 90% of them have utilized an energy broker. Our average claim surpasses £25,000, and certain businesses may even be eligible for compensation worth millions of pounds.

We firmly believe that there are more than 2 million businesses entitled to compensation, and we are dedicated to simplifying the process of making an energy claim. How are energy brokers engaging in mis-selling?

Did your energy broker inform you about the total amount they earned by arranging your business contract? From our experience, most brokers fail to disclose this crucial information, and they usually have valid reasons for doing so. Brokers are aware that if they were fully transparent, their commissions would be significantly lower, potentially deterring you from signing up for their services.

In some cases, brokers may have claimed that their services are free or that they receive their commission from the supplier as an "introducers fee" or similar terms. Typically, brokers receive their commission directly from the supplier they connect you with, and it is incorporated into the unit price they negotiate on your behalf. Often, customers are not made aware of this arrangement. Here's an example illustrating how it operates:

Breakdown of broker commission: Our average claim generally follows this pattern:

Example: Gas Contract Length:
2 Years Energy Broker Rate (Uplift): 1 p/kWh
Annual Consumption: 523,151
Energy Broker Commission: £10,463.02

The more your bills are, the more compensation you may be due.

HT Legal offer a No-Win No-Fee service for any business who can provide us with evidence they used a broker when sourcing their energy provider.

Claims can be brought to the Energy Broker (if trading) and the Energy Provider giving you 2 opportunities to get the compensation you deserve.
